Cleaning Procedure: Extraction
Extraction is the gold standard in cleaning upholstery and carpets. It works by spraying chemicals, brushing, and sucking up dirt & water all in a singular motion. Because of its advanced formula, extraction chemical/fluid does not leave stick residue that could lead to rapid re-soiling.
Equipment & Materials:
- Upholstery extractor
- Upholstery nozzle
- Extraction fluid (Neutral pH, no residue, low suds)
Comparative Advantages:
Vs. Steam cleaning – steam dissolves grease and dirt, but soil still stays on the upholstery; brushing pushes it deeper into the foam.
Vs. soapy water and brush – brushing pushes dirt deeper into the foam, while soapy water leaves a sticky residue so fabric is susceptible to rapid re-soiling.
